I contacted Shanna as I was just beginning the first stages of divorce. I needed serious help getting organized. I had old papers and bank statements and financial documents that I needed to have organized for a meeting with an attorney. I also needed to get organized with my home environment as I was now needing to move into a smaller place and had years of odds and ends that accumulate through a relationship that I needed to sort through. Having a home office that was gathering clutter at an alarming rate, and not having the knowledge or time to do anything about it, I decided to contact an organizer for help. I found Shanna to be very knowledgeable, and with a few sessions she had my home office neat and clutter free. I also decided to use her skills in designing and organizing my hallway and kitchen pantry closets which are now a joy to use rather than a chore. Shanna was always on time for our sessions and would call in advance to remind me of any special tasks I needed to have completed.

I am sitting and writing this in what feels like a brand new office. I did not realize the extent that my "little piles" were clouding my thinking and making it difficult to work. My ex-girlfriend’s lawyer was demanding my finances be audited to determine child support for our son, so suddenly I had to reconstruct 16 months of transactions. Shanna sat down with me and not only showed me how to file my receipts, but set up all my records on Quicken, and organized all my bills and expenses into something I could understand and work with. The ripple effect of this process was that I actually started saving money. Because I have to account for all my income and spending, I tend to think through my spending decisions more than I used to. Also, it makes tax time much less painless, because now all I have to do it take my well-organized receipts and my quicken files to my accountant.
