Having a home office that was gathering clutter at an alarming rate, and not having the knowledge or time to do anything about it, I decided to contact an organizer for help. My ex-girlfriend’s lawyer was demanding my finances be audited to determine child support for our son, so suddenly I had to reconstruct 16 months of transactions. Shanna sat down with me and not only showed me how to file my receipts, but set up all my records on Quicken, and organized all my bills and expenses into something I could understand and work with. The ripple effect of this process was that I actually started saving money. Because I have to account for all my income and spending, I tend to think through my spending decisions more than I used to. Also, it makes tax time much less painless, because now all I have to do it take my well-organized receipts and my quicken files to my accountant.
