General Household Organizing Products

www.organize-everything.com A staggering array of organizing products - everything from cosmetics organizers to 30 different kinds of hangers. This website is also available through shop-yahoo.

www.thecontainerstore.com An extensive selection of organizing products for every area of the home, including the garage. Great examples of closet systems to get some ideas for your own.

www.ikea-usa.com IKEA's website has improved substantially, however don't expect to do any real online shopping here. Their online selection is still very limited and largely suggestive of what is actually available in stores. Catalogues are most easily (in my opinion) obtained by just stopping by a store, or you can order one online. Be aware, though, that even the print catalogues don't include everything.

www.lnt.com Not just a housewares store, Linens 'N Things has a wonderful collection of organizing products that cater pirmarily to the kitchen, bed, bath, & dining rooms. They also specialize in cleaning and laundry supplies.

www.rubbermaid.com Here's a chance to see all the rubbermaid containers in one spot. Each product shows its dimensions and a product number. You can't order directly from rubbermaid, but the website has a store directory. Just punch in your zip code and a list of authorized retailers will appear in order of their distance from you. If you are looking for a particular item, call your local retailers with the product number.

www.target.com Target has a suprising number of organizing products and furniture, in different styles and colors, including items for the kids' room. They also have a large collection of storage containers and supplies for the laundry room.

www.homedepot.com Although Home Depot's website does have a selection of products under "storage" there are many products missing that I have seen in the store itself. I don't find the website to be terribly intuitive or thorough in desplaying what is actually available, so you may have to go browse the store to see everything they have. However, Home depot does have a wide selection of the white, wire rack, modular closet units that are very helpful in reorganizing a closet.

www.lowes.com Lowes' website is much more thorough and easier to navigate than Home Depot's, and also includes tips for each shopping area. Here you will find lots of great products for several areas of the home, including the garage. They even have a few moving supplies.

www.osh.com Orchard Supply Hardware carries a substantial stock of organizing furniture and products. Here you will also find modular closet organizing units including the white wire kind. No shopping online though, use the store locater to find a store near you.

www.pier1.com Organizing need not be white and plastic. Pier 1 has some wonderful organizing products that have lots of style and character.

www.costplus.com Lots of baskets, and a collection of really cool, collapsible canvas storage boxes. No online shopping, but use the store locator to find a store near you.

www.potterybarn.com Upscale storage units that combine sturdy craftsmanship and stylish design with functionality.

www.holdeverything.com An elegant line of organizing products and furniture. Hold Everything has a little bit of everything, and carries a selection of shelving units and modular units for the living room, closet and bathroom. They only have a sampling of their products on the website, but you can order a catalog online.

www.marthastewart.com Classy organizing products along with some great tips. Do a search for "organizing."

Note: The following places all carry the white, wire rack style of modular closet organizing units. I recommend shopping at all these places and any others you find before buying, as different places often carry different sizes and shapes of units. Also, make sure the units are all compatible with each other.
