Don't be fooled by the panorama, this kitchen is actually not very big, and the counter-top appliances limited access to functional counter space.  Additionally, the kids were landing their toys and trinkets here, and this was also the upstairs depot for household paperwork.

After three hours of work, this was the result.  We moved out everything irrelevant to the kitchen and rearranged the counter top to make the best use of the space available.  Moving the microwave to the far corner took advantage of the deep corner space allowed the shallower items to move to the center, opening up more counter prep space.  Aside from the dirty dishes, nothing was out on the counter that didn't have an immediate and frequent use.
